Back to My Roots

I’m Baaa-aack

I seems like such a long time ago since my last entry. Life has thrown me a bit of a curve ball this year. Actually, it is my daughter who was thrown a curve ball but we wanted to be there to help her play the game God gave her to play. It’s been nearly 16 years since I have been fully home. Sure, I came back pretty much every year to visit family and get my “Montana fix” but it was a long time ago that I left the boundaries of my home to seek adventure in warmer climes. I will tell you, I missed it! I think that once you have Montana in your soul, you can never feel complete until you are there. The air isn’t as sweet. The sky isn’t as blue. Life is just dull outside of the Montana border.

Not the best circumstances

It wasn’t for the greatest circumstances that I left (cruel divorce) and it wasn’t under the greatest circumstances that I returned home (child with serious health problems) but I am so glad to be back. While the majority of my time has been devoted to caring for my daughter and her family (meaning much quality time with the cutest grandbaby in the world), I have taken some “me time” to go play in some of my old stomping grounds. Of course, I always take my camera with me when I go. I have already scoped out so many places to do a variety of photo sessions for both of my businesses (TS Gallant Photography and Look at You Photography). Much to my husband’s chagrin, I’ve also been really inspired for props to go along with certain session themes. He thinks we are running out of room to store everything. He doesn’t know me very well. I am the Tetris queen! It will all fit, I promise. I do have a lot, though; buckets, baskets, barrels, rocking horses, carousel horse, tractor pedal car, benches, chairs, stools, moons, bowls, carriages and so much more.

What’s next?

TS Gallant Photography is gearing up for the Christmas season, that’s one thing. I am really feeling it this year, for literally the first time since our baby flew the coop, 10 years ago. I promise you, Christmas in Florida is NOT the same thing as Christmas in Montana. It’s also not the same when all your kids are so far away. This year will bring a lot of changes in our Christmas sessions. I have taken several classes, in person and online, to help up my Christmas game. Even my husband, the best Santa ever, is excited to be a part of the magic this year will bring. We will be offering our holiday sessions starting in October. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter and follow us on Instagram and Facebook to keep updated on those announcements. They sell out quick! Other than that, having actual seasons and colors that aren’t just brown and blue with an actual landscape background instead of just houses, buildings and half-dead palm trees has me just over the moon excited! In the future, I’ll be offering several themed session days. Examples are little cowboy bath time, little country guitarist, adventure path, sunflower field, little farmer and more (see some samples of a few of them, below). With beautiful Montana scenery, I am not limited to just shooting for a studio look. YAY!

So…

Just keep a look out for future announcements and see my inspiration come to life, back to my heart, the Montana that I love. Send me a message HERE if you want to inquire about booking a session with me.
